Squadron Leader E N Bunting DFC*

Is anyone in touch with the family of Squadron Leader Edward Nigel Bunting DFC* of  St John's, Worcester, UK?

I have a book out next May with a chapter on his service career until his death in action on 31/7/44. He was a night fighter pilot with 85 and 488 Squadrons, and was an 'ace' with 9 confirmed kills to his credit.

If anyone knows the family, please get in touch.

Kind Regards

Andrew Long

Hello Andrew Long

I realise that you posted your enquiry quite some time ago, but I have only just found it!  Edward Nigel's father, Dr Bunting, was our family doctor and we lived next door to him in Henwick Road, St. John's, Worcester. Dr Bunting delivered me at home in June 1945 and asked my mother to name me Nigel after his son. I have always felt that I am his alter ego.

I would love to get in touch with you and also to read your book. Sadly I do not know the title.  My email is janigw@yahoo.co.uk

Yours sincerely

Nigel Worrall

Probably too late to post this now but E N Bunting would have been my great-uncle. His sister, my grandmother, became Mary Elizabeth Corbin and later Mary Elizabeth Best.

By chance I found this gentlemans grave today whilst I was touring in Suisse Normandie. I've been trying to research some history as to how he came to be here, without too much success.

The grave looks well tended as you would expect.
