Bonsall

I am looking for anyone who can trace their Bunting family to Bonsall, Derbyshire. Apparently there were 28 Bunting families in Bonsall in the 19th century.  I am looking for the ancestors of Benjamin Bunting born around 1810.

He married Ellen Doxey 3.04.1833 in Bonsall and had 4 daughters Ann,Hannah, Elizabeth and Charlotte and like mose men at that time was a lead minor. I am sure that there must be a common ancester for all the Buntings in that area.

Sorry about the delay. When the Secretary receives your application and payment of subscription she will let me know that you are a member. I will then create a user account for you that will give you access to Family Trees and much more content on the web site.

Did you  find the info on the branch of the Buntings you were looking for?    It's my branch too, and although your name rings a bell and I may have contacted you before,   can't remember 3 years back.  Regards Pauline Hasan

My Great Great Grandmother was Sarah Bunting from Bonsall C1828/29.  She married John Gratton.  It appears that she already had a child named Mary Bunting, but went on to have 2 children with John Gratton named Alice and Esther Elizabeth.  Esther Elizabeth Gratton was my Great Grandmother and married William Allen.

The family trees are so hard to identify as the names Gratton and Bunting were prominent and popular forenames of the time make it even more difficult.

The best of luck in continuing your search.

Janet Joyce (nee Allen)
