Welcome to The Bunting Society Poll: What do you want from the society

I am not sure of the object of the vote. It seems to me that it may be to determine whether we want to give priority to meetings, postal communication or computer based communications. I would have found it easier to vote if we had been given a first and second choice. As it was I voted for the annual gathering but this does not mean that I think having more on the website is not a good idea or that with todays technology the website should not get more priority than the newsletter. I just think it is very important members have a chance to meet once a year at an annual gathering. As far as the website goes I think it is very good and to keep it good much more must be added to it. I would expect the journal to become smaller as time goes by with no more than 2 issues a year. However I believe it will always be important to have some form of paper journal or newsletter not least to keep less active members aware of the website, perhaps point them to one or more articles therein, and ensure they are aware of the date of the annual gathering and the AGM. Having said all that one should not slim down the newsletter immediately least those without computers loose out. However if everything in the newsletter is on the website one could ask members to save the society printing and postage by requesting they no longer receive the newsletter.
