I am trying to find the date of death of Arthur William Bunting born 6 January 1868 at Heacham, Norfolk. He was the son of John and Sarah Bunting. John Bunting was born in Heacham, North West Norfolk, in1835. His wife Sarah Allen was born in 1836 in Bircham Tofts in North West Norfolk. They married in 1858 in Heacham. their son Arthur William Bunting (as above) married Martha Belcher  (born 1876) on 18 October 1905 in Hunstanton. They had two children Helena Martha Bunting born 27 August 1907 at Lancaster and Jack Belcher Bunting born 1911 at Llanduf, Cardigan. I don't know whether any of this means anything to you?  I doubt whether this is the same William Bunting but it is interesting as we cannot trace  when or how our Arthur William Bunting died and there are some similarities. Incidentally why don't you say who you are rather than remaining anonymous or even better join the Bunting Society. You would be very welcome.  Cheers Tony

I am the great grand son of Bertha Burman (maiden name  Bunting), on my mother's side, she was the sister of William. I have always been interested in the family history and recently came across the Commonwealth War Graves Commission record of William's grave, and decided to google his name to see what came up leading me to The Bunting Society.

I would be very interested to see the letter he wrote! If you would like to get in contact with me my email is

Kind Regards

Ben Sherriff
