Thankyou for your reply Michael.

I have been fortunate enough to find out some more information on Jabez since my post in October. I didnt have his parents names so I dont know who has provided that information. Jabez emigrated with his family to Australia on the ship Brothers in 1841. He was about 6 yrs old. According to the passenger list his parents were Robert and Lucy, there was also an older brother John.  Also on the same ship was Ely Buting and his wife Mary and their baby Robert Bunting. Im not sure if the 2 families are related.

Eli and Mary Bunting, who migrated to Sydney in 1840, are my 2x great grandparents. From my research in Sheffield, I have found that Eli's parents were Robert and Hannah Bunting, who were living in Regent St Sheffield in the 1841 Census, and both lived there until their deaths.  Their only other child I could find was Abner Bunting, who died in Sheffield in 1841, aged 27.  I would be interested if you have found any connection between Jabez, Robert and Lucy Bunting and my Bunting family.
