Many pages also include the ‘Names of the Fallen.’ The memorials are dedicated to commemorating the thousands of men and women from, or who had connections with Ulster who paid the supreme sacrifice during the Great War and Second World War and the tens of thousands of others who served in the armed services of numerous Allied countries. Ulster consists of the six counties of Northern Ireland (part of the United Kingdom) and three counties in the Irish Republic.
